The Stones (Carrie Chisholm)

This mixed media on light blue velvet work includes a fan of smaller cut gemstone-like detailing and gold/silver-coloured chord, framing a cluster of larger achromatic painted gemstones, embodying a depiction of a single earring. They are rendered distortedly through blind contour drawing with acrylic paint and textile applications. The work was inspired by a Tiffany & Co. jewellery advertising campaign. The velvet is upholstery-quality, and presents a slight sheen. The work is unframed.
