The Rocks (Carrie Chisholm)

This mixed media on light blue velvet work includes a fan of small cut gemstone-like detailing and gold-coloured chord, framing a larger blue painted cut gemstone, embodying the depiction of a single earring. They are rendered distortedly through blind contour drawing with acrylic paint and textile applications. The work was inspired by a Tiffany & Co. jewellery advertising campaign. The velvet is upholstery-quality, and presents a slight sheen. The work is unframed.
