Teapot Nesters (Saskia Wassing)

In my studio, I love to set up still life’s to draw from. For this piece I collected all the teapots in our house and assembled them to study. The drawings inspired this embroidered composition which brings in the imagined community of little birds that have made their homes amongst the teapots. Collaged silks are freely embroidered using my basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool. The embroidery is framed within a 28”x 22” contemporary white wood frame, ready to hang.
