Tea & Lemon Cake (Saskia Wassing)

This playful circular composition is of two fancily dressed birds I imagined enjoying a special tea with lemon cake. The white linen ground is embroidered freely with thread by hand and by using a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool. Each stitch building up the textures, patterns and details in the embroidery. The artwork measures 4.5”x 4.5” and is framed within a 8”x 8” contemporary white wood frame, ready to hang.
