Red Chard (cells magnified x250) (Karen Taylor)

Red chard was the first plant I painted in my Cultivated series. It started as an experiment: painting abstract paintings based on crops from my allotment garden, under a microscope. I didn’t use a coloured stain when I looked at this under the microscope.
