Not of a Feather (Carrie Chisholm)

This mixed media on black velvet work depicts a pair of bejewelled earrings side by side, each is in the shape of a bird wearing a crown and sitting atop a painted teardrop-shaped pearl. They are rendered distortedly through blind contour drawing with acrylic paint and textile applications. The work was inspired by a recent Tiffany & Co. jewellery advertising campaign. The velvet is upholstery quality. It is unframed.
