Lichen (Marilyn Armand)

Part of a series of wall pieces created from photographs, this work is inspired by an often discreet natural detail: lichen. Based on an image captured by photographer Daphné Caron, a dialogue was initiated between textile material and plant texture. Lichen is approached as a territory: an irregular surface where organic forms slowly impose themselves. Through superimpositions, contrasts and play on scale, the composition evokes the silent growth of life on stone, moss and wood.
