The long wood firing of these items, renders them crusty and worn-looking. Kitchen items used by generations gone by were simple and used continuously. These utensils have the look of well worn tools that have done their job and meant to remind us of simpler times. There seem to be many stories in families regarding favourite wood spoons, rolling pins, ladels or knives, often on passed from generation to generation.
