At a distance you see through to the illusion, an image of water waves. But up close it breaks apart and you see this other structure. Somewhere there is a threshold. That point is important. It’s not just about what the image is, but realizing that what you’re seeing isn’t fixed, it depends on how you’re looking. Ideally, there’s a small “wait… what just changed?” moment that opens up a bigger awareness of how we put the world together.
