What’s a monotype? It’s a special, one-off print. No two are the same. Each one is hand-crafted, layer by layer, on a special surface. Then everything is lifted off onto paper. When I looked at the garlic from my garden under my microscope, I could see several layers of translucent cells. Each layer was visible underneath the one I was focusing on. I had to capture them on paper. This 8" x 10" piece is matted for a 12" x 16" frame.
