Flowering Vase with Birds (Saskia Wassing)

I love drawing historic and decorative tiles. This stitched artwork pays homage to a little Delft tile I sketched and embellished with a decorative boarder. White linen and cotton layers are quilted and embroidered freely with blue threads using a basic domestic sewing machine as my drawing tool. The 8”x 8.5”embroidery is mounted onto an acid free museum quality mat and framed within a contemporary white wood 12”x 12” frame, ready to hang.
