Original Wood Carving. The figures in this work confront not only one another, but also themselves. Through gestures of standing, watching, and contemplation, the composition creates a quiet yet persistent tension. Conflict exists not merely between individuals, but between ideals and reality, memory and the present, nature and civilization.
