Dark Surf Chawan (Sheryl Ebon Martinez)

This dramatic surface is brought to you by a thousand year-old Tenmoku glaze recipe layered with Chun glaze that creates the ocean surf effect. This chawan was thrown on the wheel using porcelain clay made in-studio, hand-carved and then fired to cone 10 (1280 degree Celcius) reduction in a gas kiln.
