canadian woman (ronald simmer)

My sculpture “Canadian Woman” takes shape, an abstract artwork in chrome bumpers scavenged from wrecked trucks. The theme is energy, mobility and strength exhibited by women now succeeding in traditional male roles. Our century has seen massive changes and stresses in the lives of women. The materials used for the athletic body are bright chrome and stainless steels - the toughest materials available - changed by impact. The head of powder coated aluminum is a red rose, reflecting love and sex.
