Blooming Together (Saskia Wassing)

This playful composition is of two fancy flower tail birds I imagined enjoying time together in the garden wearing their favourite hats. The white linen ground is embroidered freely with red thread by hand and using a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool, building up the textures, patterns and details in the embroidery. The artwork is mounted within a 14"x 11"white wood frame, ready to hang.
