Blooming in Our Path (Sara Wiens)

A mixed media painting based on the flight patterns of honeybees as they forage to and from their hives. Scientists affixed transmitters to honeybees to determine how they orient themselves in the landscape. These tiny, fleeting insects have a profound impact on the ecosystem. This piece reflects the cheerful audacity of bees to keep to their work of pollinating while simlutaneously creating an undulating pattern over the landscape.
